Genetic risk assessment for Hereditary Cancer

What is Oncosense Screening?

Oncosense is a genetic screening that checks the genetic predisposition of an individual for developing certain types of hereditary cancers or inherited cancers.

Hereditary cancers are caused by mutations/variants in certain genes (DNA) passed from parents to children. The screening analyses for over 62 genes covering 12 types of organs/tissues.

Why is Oncosense screening important?

Genetic changes in DNA can pass from generation to generation. Individuals who have inherited a gene mutation from parents in cancer-susceptibility gene are at a significantly higher chance of developing certain types of hereditary cancer compared to those without mutation.

Oncosense screening will help you to take informed decisions and mitigate the possible risk due to hereditary cancers.

Who should take
the Oncosense Screening?

  • Individuals with a personal history of breast, ovarian, colorectal, uterine, prostate, or pancreatic cancer diagnosed at a young age, bilateral breast cancer (affecting both breasts), or the presence of both ovarian and breast cancer.
  • Family members with bilateral breast cancer below the age of 50.
  • Individuals with a family history of breast, ovarian, colorectal, uterine, prostate, or pancreatic cancer.
  • Those with triple-negative breast cancer below the age of 60 years with or without a family history.
  • Relatives with a known deleterious variant in hereditary cancer genes.
  • Individuals with two or more relatives with ovarian cancer or a history of breast cancer diagnosed below the age of 45 years.
  • Ethnic populations/communities known to be at high risk for cancers.
  • Any health-conscious individual above 18 years who may be interested in proactive screening and monitoring their health.

How will Oncosense help you?

  • Oncosense provides a comprehensive report which will provide you with an easy-to-understand information about your genetic risk for hereditary cancer (HC).
  • Oncosense also provides selective suggestions for managing hereditary cancer risk. These include enhanced screening, regular surveillance, prophylactic (risk-reducing) surgery and chemoprevention.
